ICANN Has More Pigeon Domainz?

by dannybuntu on July 3, 2011

First of all, I’d like to say hi to all the pigeon heads over here and sometimes over there. Do you have your umbrellas with you? Great!

By now, everybody is scratching their heads with the ICANN’s recent policy makeover that is practically allowing everyone (ok, everyone with $185,000 USD) to register brand names and most anything crappy on the Internet nowadays.

In this way, you could register something as enlightening as http://www.pigeon.droppings.

As if there wasn’t enough pigeon droppings already floating about.

Now, I’m not a domainer but I am fascinated by all of these.

I’m hoping that maybe someone enlightened enough might give us the time to spend in answering a few silly questions.

1. Would the new policy changes made by the ICANN severely davalue existing gTLDs or are they going to get a more prominent place on the interwebs?

2. How do you think Google will change its algorithms?

3. How will this effect SEO?

Now I have more awesome and provocative questions to ask like:

Are you guys really making money on this?

But that would have to wait until the umbrella could hold no more pigeon droppings.

Pigeon reporter out.
